found it at Ellwood Epps..$295 Im thinking thats a real good price for what you get.

16-1/2" HEAVY FLUTED BBL, THREADED MUZZLE, BLUED FINISH, SYNTHETIC STOCK, PICATINNY SCOPE RAIL, TACTICAL BOLT KNOB, ACCU TRIGGER, DETACHABLE MAGAZINE, SWIVEL STUDS

2 days ago, I was suggesting that very rifle to someone on another forum, I found it while looking at the TR model on the Savage site.

I really dig the look of it, would be nice to hear how it shoots. I held a 93R17 TR at Epps late last fall, almost bought it. I loved the over-sized bolt handle, great for my big mitts...imagined it would be great for use with gloves in cold weather too. If the gun's barrel is anything like the fluted TR in .17 HMR I saw, the fluting istelf is very shallow...almost more of an aesthetic consideration than anything else.

Price seems very reasonable, Savage rules the roost when it comes to interesting rimfires these days.

Nice looking rig, and if it shoots as well as my FV, it's a great unit.

I just wish the drop of the factory stock was matched with the fact that these rifles (FV and FV-SR) are going to be used with a scope, not iron sights. They seem to use the same stocks for both the scoped models, and those with factory sights, so with a good cheek weld, you end up staring straight at your scope-mount base.

Wow! Very nice. Checked the Savage website for specs and saw the TRR-SR, apparently another new model. Looks very slick, forend rails, with a McMillan pattern stock, but quite a jump in price.

Any idea if the oversize bolt knob would swap in to the standard receiver without fitting? I think that would be a very nice mod to the BV model, for example.

I might be flamed for this but I hate the 64 action. JUNK.!!!

Jams when it's clean,dirtry oiled,dry whatever whenever...pure trash.

Why waste a nice stock and barrel on such a limp action

The post above mine was refering to a TRR-SR which is a 64 action

Ok, gotcha. Winnipegtoymaker is a 64 expert, perhaps he can help you resolve your 64 issues. I had two 64s which were uber-reliable when reasonably clean, pretty accurate for semi-autos as well. The weak link in the 64 design is the magazine, IMO.

Made exclusively for distribution by Lipsey’s of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, these Mark II bolt action rimfires are built just like Savage’s other Mark II rifles, but with threaded muzzles to accept muzzle brakes and sound suppressors.
