M1 garand prices gone up???

I think a Garand with a 3 digit ser number sold for $2500.... which may have been a bit high,(for a rebuild) but if it had still been in it's original condition ( a gas trap M1) it would have been worth around $30,000! and that's the truth.....

be nice to find out if he does have them FS, But at those prices, they will need a lot of work new barrels but still a find.

I'm no expert, but I do know that 99% of all M1 Garands out on the market today (including everything on the EE) have been refurbished and/or rearsenaled. The only example of this is the Lend Lease M1 Garand. Here's a quote from an expert on another forum:
" The Lend-Lease M1 Rifles are just about the only original examples of pre-WWII manufacture. They were sent to England fresh off the assembly line, sat in storage for the remainder of the war, and beginning in the 1955 time period were released by the British government for commercial sale, with some of them making it back to U.S. dealers. There has been a drop in the market lately, but a year ago nice original Lend-Lease M1 Rifles were selling in the $3000/3500 range.
It is also unusual to find the painted red band indicating .30 caliber, as most were cleaned off by their new owners."

was a 'joke'. no rifles, don't expect to get any rifles, they doubt that ANYONE will get any of these rifles.

i called and they said they didn't think anyone would take the ad seriously.

Yet another Garand AD has gone up for sale at a very high price....

Is this a joke? or are these folks serious?
