Dillon Equipment and Customs

I think I paid just GST and general freight when I got my 1050. Dillon usually uses FedEx, so they don't rape you like UPS does with brokerage fees out of nowhere.

Should just be HST and $5 for Customs if USPS. Fed Ex can charge brokerage fees like UPS too (along with the HST) but they don't always.

my last order came USPS. The Dillon rep I talked to actually started the conversation on shipping with the fact that fedex/UPS will rape us Canadians on brokerage. Nice to hear for a change.

GST/PST at the door and $5 Canada Post brokerage. Smooth transaction even though the CBSA open up the box and it was delayed a week

Eguns usually ships dillon stuff at dillon cost or cheaper, and their shipping prices are way better than buying direct from dillon.

Dillon.

With UPS you can refuse the delivery and broker it yourself.
Just tell the delivery guy you'll broker it yourself.
Make sure he gives you a paper notice with the package number on it.

Wait a day or two for the package to get back to UPS, then go to the correct UPS office for the forms. Take the forms to the correct Customs office. They'll have you pay applicable taxes and give you a form to take back to the UPS pickup location.

What's "rape" though...?

I had a $800 order shipped via UPS from Dillon and brokerage fee was $40.

Of course they never actually sent me the bill....
