Hey guy's I have bought the savage edge and all was going fine but recently I had a bullet that would not come out of my chamber. I took the bolt out the catch was not in far enough I pushed it tight and tried again it came out I then shot again and the next bullet took some force to pull out and boom the spring, catch and ball bearing go flying. After a while I managed to find the tiny ball and spring what do you guys figure I could do to stop this from happening again.

thnx for any reply's

Are you talking about the extractor when you say catch? Your rifle is relatively new return to where you bought it for warranty service.

Photos would help . If it does not look like something that should normally come apart and be reasembeled Then I would try to deal with it under warrenty.

The savage customer service department is great to deal with

Savage customer Service is second to none!! They've been awesome to me, and a few friends..we had a couple of mag issues...just gave them the s/n and an address, in a little over a week we had the new ones in our hands!!...here's the phone number for ya...

(413) 568-7001 for parts and service (please have your serial number and credit card available)

I would go back to dealer for warranty, i`ve run into this on a couple of other Sav. rifles i mounted scopes on. The extractor gets real sloppy, not sure if it`s wear or manufacturing errors.

Hey guys thanks for all your input yes it is the extractor sorry for any confusion. I have now came up with a new problem and will call savage about it. The new problem i am having is when I rush on my bolt to reload the pin falls! Only when i rush to reload and slam the bolt in the heat of the moment does this happen. My question is can i grind the lip where my spring sits a little deeper to prevent this or will i cause issues?
any help would be awesome going dogging this weekend and do not want this problem again. THNX

warranty.

Called savage and they are sending a ejector and extractor free if it still does not work they want me to send it in. I have fixed the trigger spring and I think this voids my warranty is this correct?

It will depend on what you did to "fix" the trigger spring if your warranty is void or not. Install the parts they send then decide if you need to send it back to Savage.
