I was just wondering, does anyone know if the Keltec RFB long barreled (32" I think?) target model will be sold in Canada? The so called "sniper" one....the long range guy.

This one:

I emailed Kel-Tec a while back and they kept telling me "not yet" "not until june" "not quite yet ready".... etc.

So maybe someone knows if they are finally in production, and if they'll be in Canada?

Thanks!

It will be here eventually, if Kel-Tec can't give you firm date, anyone else tells you something different is just pulling it out of their hat. :p

I think the focus is really on getting the 18.5" versions in as quickly as they can - I've heard that the waiting list is easily as long as 15 persons per retailer. It may be simpler to buy a this model, and have one of the many talented Canadian Gunsmiths make you a new barrel. Herron Arms has done 3 guns for me already and his work is meticulous.

Maybe so.... maybe I will wait a while, until the heat for these guns cools down, and buy a used one :)

Bingo! Someone finally sees it the way I do. I told that to my father, and he said I would "look like a moron out in the field with a military-esque rifle, hunting game".

Mine will be going out deer hunting with me this year, and Im pretty sure I won't look like a moron when I'm hiking into dense brush and not getting hung up on everything with my rifle like the other guys with me.

Exactly! I can't understand why people don't see this point...a bullpup design is just an innovation like anything else industrial - cars with 4 wheel drive, covertible tops, CFL bulbs instead of incandescent etc etc.

If it's better, why not use it, right? i'd love to get my hands on one and get to Krylon camo it like I did my CZ858 :)

Best huntin shootin iron available exactly for that reason .

The ONLY handgun hunting possible in Kanada ! :D ;)

All of my bullpup rifles have been out hunting with me. They are my primary goto guns. I've received my fair share of weird looks until I let them handle the gun and explain its virtues. After that its often "where do I get one?". The RFB will be no exception and its scheduled for a fall trip to Nova Scotia for deer.

Its only a matter of time that they become more accepted as a hunting rifle.

I hope so, I need to convince my father so he understands it and stops giving me weird looks.

So what Bullpups do you currently have?

(I noticed you're in ottawa... I think you should totally let me shoot one ;) hahah just kidding).

Fired one today, it a heavy gun and kicks a bit, but its a nice design, it was purchased from dante sports in Montreal, i think he paid $2400 (18.5inch barrel)

Will give them a call on Monday.

That's actually a much better price than others paid (someone said 2700$)...the US MSRP is like 1800 something. $2400 by canadian standards is acceptable for a new one I think....

I still think I may wait out the storm and fury to get a used one...

Its not bad, i am a lefty and the kel-tec is good for me, also for reloading its nice as the brass isn't kicked about like my m14.

probably be a while before they show on ee, also thinking about the rob arms xcr in 308, might get both :)

I REALLY want an XCR in either 7.62X39 or .308, but I can't afford it.

I think a 7.62X39 would be great. I could sell my cz858, sell off a couple other guns, and just buy one XCR to get the job done :)

Supposibily the 32 inch model will generate 300 win mag velocity in a 40 inch long gun that fires 308 win. Pretty damn good if you think about without the muzzle blast, noise and recoil of the 300 win mag.
