Importing an LRB receiver.

was a nice long chat with giwolf today on the phone..... firearms and 4x4's ........ two of my favorite things hehehehe
so i posted above i was gonna sit on the sidelines and wait and see....... even told GW that on the phone........ hung up the phone....... the idea nagged me all fricken day whilst playing with the new krieger barrel and boxing up people's custom stocks and a couple eye candy sage builds......... picked wife up from work....... and all the way home tried to get her to convince me to stay on the sidelines...... she says..... honey...... you work too hard..... you should buy that m25 thingy LOL
I'm calling prophet in tha mornin ;)

I just e-mailed Prophet River asking that they investigate on LRB import with their FFL exporter.

Still no news of FNsports.

With all the interest we showed, Prophet river is trying it with GI wolf.

FNsports didn't reply my e-mail, I called for my M1A warranty. They really don't want to deal with particulars, dealers only. Seems they still able to import M1As with flash-hiders. I was unable to learn more. The level of service I got was like we hear about them.

been stuck at home for several days..... crazy snow here LOL finally got the neighbor over to make my driveway passable. Been itchin to get to town to shuffle some cash around and place an order through prophet as well. when my jeep won't make it outta the driveway in 4 low with semi truck chains on all 4....... I need to buy myself a tractor LOL
will also endeavor to keep ya'all posted once the order is being processed. I've built 2 of these in the past couple years and also re-built an complete LRB rifle..... I see no reason why these new orders would not go through as the other ones did. Takes some time and it's not cheap but i'm pretty sure they'll get here just fine. regardless of the heel stamp markings.

If there's a list, put me down.

Would there be any issues with the "Rear Lug" Model in a JAE 100 stock? Any disadvantages to the rear lug model?

Edit: All else fails, check the manufactures website...facepalm...

*The JAE-100 G3 WITH Selector Cut Out will NOT fit a Rear Lugged Receiver

The rear lug receivers will not fit in standard USGI/M1A stocks, if you consider that a disadvantage. They can be apparently be fitted to some JAE stocks and the Mcmillan and the National Match Stocks.

If I get one brought in it is purely for personal reasons, I have no means or plans at this time anyways, to start bringing these in.

i think it works like this....
you call LRB and see if they have the model you want.
call an importer such as prophet river or questar ect and get thier info, FFL ect. , provide your info for canadian registration
pay LRB for the receiver, pay the duty , pay the taxes..... then pay the importer's fee
pretty painless process but, it's not cheap and it is a waiting game...... one that in my opinion. is a game worth playin ;)
I have every intention of travelling with mine to the U.S. for my trips to south dakota and to washington and can't do that with my chinese ones, regardless of all the non chinese parts in them. Tired of shootin my buddy bill's rifles when i go down there, will be nice to take my own

Well if its successful, maybe we can do a group buy through profit river and try to save a few bucks? If they do such a thing.

The rate i was quoted for the import is a really good deal as it is..... I shopped around :D
For the service of delivering me one of these receivers, I'll gladly pay PR's asking fee.
I would think a group buy might be complicated and I do not think it would save us any $$$ at the source. With the high demand for these receivers in the US, discounting them is probably not something LRB will consider for a small order..... but you never know.
I think the best bet is, if you want one, get on it and order one hehehe

There appears to be a fair number of folks considering these as I've had many emails with questions regarding the ones I've previously handled.

Awesome, I have some phone calls to make today then, thanks.

You are right, I am just waiting to see if the Prophet river can get it in. Once I know for sure, I am good to go. I just hate getting my hopes up, only to be sent crashing back to earth.

+1, I've called and put my name on a rear lug M25, just waiting for the word if the "7.62" is going to be a deal breaker for export or not.

If so, Doc, your going to be busy in surgery for a while ;)

Anyone heard from Clay@PR? Last I talked to him he told me to hold off and he was checking if import was possible, and he figured someone would post up when that was done.

Explain the details on these receivers and the big HOOHAA as to why everyone wants one? Is this the receiver with the mount built in like "Oldsmobiler" has? What are we looking at for price landed in Canuckistan? :D Thanks in advance,

Yes, like Oldsmobiler's receiver.

My HOOHAA is the low, light-weight, bomb-proof scope rail on the M25 receiver. You might also like the fact that it's probably the best forged receivers made today. Among other cool parts, they carry Criterion 18,5" barrels.

US price + 200$ Prophet R. import fee + tx + SH

check out LRB's website, they have a tonne of info
they are arguably the highest quality of any currently manufactured M14 type receiver. Hammer forged, beautifully machined and finished.... just a top shelf product all around.
worth 1400 ish landed?? probably not as you will most likely never see your return if you sold it ..... but as a keeper rifle, that can legally cross borders for hunting/competition shooting...... worth it to me :D
