Can we see pics of?Does anyone know what the arsenal refurb marks from Poland look like? How else can I tell if my Polish M44 is a refurb?
Thanks
The few Polish M44 guns I've seen were new or near new. Yours apprears to look like them.

The wood looks GREAT on your gun!!!
Lou, I bought it here a year ago from another member. He said it was unfired so I have taken his word for it. When I got it the cosmo was still on the rifle. I then sold it to another member who harvested a moose with it (2 shots). I then bought it back. So as far as I know it has only fired 2 shots since leaving the factory.
The reason I asked about refurb marks was the little diamond shape marks all over the rifle. However I was mostly trying to show off my favourite milsurp. The Polish Mosin Nagant M44.

I was just thinking to myself that rifle looks familiar...
There was alot more grease(cosmoline) on it before I sold it to you also; I wiped most of the excess off so it would be easier to handle.
IIRC it was still oozing out of the bolt/firing pin hole.
I have had 4 of those unissued Polish M44's all 1953 dated and they all had the same markings. The only different markings I found was a number on the front sight either 1,2 or 3... Still dont know what they mean?
Oh yeah, the Polish bores are chromed.
Cheers
Ryan
i was unaware that they have chrome lined bores...

Nice carbine you have. Your was probably unissued judging by the condition. I have 1 of those, 1955 dated unissued, unfired, still in the grease. I bought it 13 years agoHere they are
