Anyone know who makes polymer tips for bullets and sells them to the general public? I am not talking about Corbin's 'Bullet Balls', I am trying to find a source of different colour and shapes/sizes of tips for bullet making, but of the non-bronze/alum./alloy variety.

Any help is muchly appreciated.

Thanks.

Use airsoft pellets :) They come in many colours and should do the trick. You can pick them up in big volume at hardware stores.

Warning about airsoft BB's

Do yourself a favor and don't cheap out and try to use the inexpensive (recycled) plastic airsoft that they sell at Wally world ! They have flaws and inclutions in them that only appear ater the aplication of several thousand PSI of swage die force are applied to them, aqs well they are quite a brittle material to begin with ! A little heat is needed to make things go smoothly !

Agreed. Despite the 'pretty' descriptor in the original title, I want them for what they were designed to do; initiate rapid, consistent expansion. While I appreciate the suggestion, airsoft pellets wouldn't hold together well enough for hunting rifle velocities. I want the real deal, and find it odd that they're not more widely available...

You do know hornady forms these from extruded plastics... they dont have like a preformed tip and a machine that places it on the top of bullet.

When you swageing bullets if you have a lead softpoint the excess lead comes out of the die... if you cut back on the lead and subistitue a plastic it will have a plastic tip.

Even if and or when you do find what you are searching for you maybe unpleasantly suprised to find the additional cost of an export permit to go along with your tips . Corbin sales is marketing a alumanum(sp) tip and special nose punch for inserting them , but as with anything with the Corbin name it will take a while (a year or better) and they are spendy !
