Hey Guys;

Anyone else notice just how many Norinco M4 lowers are on the EE? Anyone notice people are looking for complete Norinco M4 uppers?

I can only guess that folks buy the complete gun, only to swap out the lower for another brand?

Maybe it's just me, but I can only guess that folks are more than willing to use the Norinco M4, or parts from it, just so long as other people don't know it's a Norinco...

As for me, my Norinco M4 is factory... For the price, you just can't go wrong IMHO.

Cheers
Jay

I'll be purchasing my M4 as soon as my Hornady LNL AP gets here and gets set up.
Since I spent as much on the press, case feeder, bullet feeder and accessories as I would have purchasing a nice AR15 I figure I'll start with a Norinco and see how well it shoots.

If I like it enough I'll dress it up to my liking. If it doesn't shoot as well as I want it to I'll get a nice upper first then a nice lower to make a complete rifle and put the Norinco back together and sell it for a minimal loss.

For some reason I still don't bother to look at their 1911's.
I have my eye set on a few other Springfields, an STI and a Les Baer.

Did you consider that people already have lowers and may want an inexpensive upper with a different barrel length?

I have a lower. I'd love to get a Norc upper with BCG and have a shorter barrelled upper for $350 or so.

There are also people out there that wanted to try an AR and didn't like is so parted out the gun to make a little bit of money.

I've run my first generation Norc 14.5 upper on an Armalite lower, they fit very nicely - zero wobble, nice and tight and 100 percent reliability - the uppers are much better quality than the lowers. There's nothing wrong with the Norc lower, but if you have a better lower, why not use the Norc lower on a Chiappa upper, for example.

I feel the same way, and I love mine. The only thing it needs is a red dot, but I'm travelling overseas soon and haven't done the legwork to intersect cost with desired features of various optics. One day...

If anyone has an opinion, I think something with quality sight picture that sights accurately with parallax / both-eyes-open shooting and has magnification of at least 1.5x or 2x. Oh, and it doesn't cost $900 :)

The modular design of the AR makes customization easy.
If someone wants a M4ish rifle, it is much cheaper to buy a Norinco just for its upper, and then sell the lower, rather than try to buy a North American upper assembly.

My CQ-A is my first black rifle. It's a fun range toy. I just put a Strikefire RD and a Magpul rear BUIS on it. No other mods and it's great fun!
