What are Original WW2 Russian PU Nagant Snipers selling for now?

My obervation re Russian snipers- the people who are Mosin enthusiasts are so because they are reasonably priced, like $200 for a pretty nice rifle.

The pool of Mosin enthusiasts who will pay $1500 for a real sniper...is pretty shallow.

You can drive a Rusty Chevette, a 4X4, a 4 Door Sedan, a Minivan, a Cadillac or a Corvette.

There's something out there for everyone like the guy on a Shoe String Budget with a Skateboard or the guy with 10 Porsche's in his Garage! :p

Here's some pics of my PU, 1944 dated. Been through a war or two, but we fired 10 rounds out of her at 200 yards a couple years back and it was a sweet shooter. Rifle is mismatched, but the sling/action cover and scope cover have on her for a long time.
In comparison, I have fired the new reproductions as well, and have been quite impressed with them, especially for the money. Trigger pull is noticeably different on the original PU compared to the reproductions, it seems. Thanks for looking:)

Very true. Im having a hard time getting rid of one of my more pricey Mosins aswell

I took a painful bath on 3 higher end Russian and Finn rifles...learnt my lesson. That lesson being, there is no market for them. :(

One experience is just that and nothing more.

But we're talking "The Real Deal" Snipers and not regular 91/30's.

The $2000 PU Sniper are long gone from CS and not on the website anymore. I guess there Is a market for real snipers which blows the painful bath theory!

Thanks for the info ArtyMan. My knowledge on Mosins is definitely limited.

I also can see no reason for repro receivers for Mosins. What I was getting at was whether or not the repro snipers on the market today are newly drilled and tapped for their new bases or if they are true ex sniper rifles that were sent back for standard service, after FTR?

Some of the repro snipers, have new barrels and some seem to be well used. This would indicate the rifles are mostly just picked for outside appearance, off the shelf, rather than picked out from retro snipers that had been returned to standard configuration.

Makes sense, I've seen a few that had the plugs taken out to fit repro bases. It would have been easier to d&t a fresh receiver.
