Nope. I cant deer hunt with a rifle, so i have no need.
A bolt shotgun who's going to get one
Yes. It wasn't in production long. I fired one owned by a friend in the 90's and was very impressed. It was the most accurate slug gun I've ever fired. Nice to see them back and would be my choice for the shotgun-only season.Didn't Browning come out with the A-Bolt shotgun back in the 1990's ??
"...can't deer hunt with a rifle..." It's a bolt action, detachable 2 round mag, 3" chambered, rifled barrel, shotgun. MSRP is $1100 to $1240US.
As daft as it sounds, shotguns with a rifled barrel are still considered to be shotguns for 'shotguns only' WMU's. Asked the MNR about it a few years ago.
I will wait until the novelty wares off and try to pick one up at a reduced price or used on the EE
I remember in the 80's we used to see a bunch of those Mossberg? bolt shotguns in the exploration camps. They had detachable 2 shot box magazines IIRC. The companies liked them because they were dirt cheap. Not anymore I guess![]()
A reduced price on EE???
They'll all be "nib" or "only one box shot". Oh, and $15 off new.
I have a H&R bolt in 12ga and also a Mossberg 535 3-combo with a rifled barrel, I'm not going to drop more than a grand in another shotgun. I've heard they're nice though, still a bit too pricey for a slug only gun, the Savage is priced more competitively in my opinion, and you'd get about the same accuracy since it's just a slug gun.
So you are the guy with the H&R Gamester?how do you find it shoots? I heard it has a 4 shot tubular magazine. I have:
"A bolt shotgun"- It's a Savage 58D in 20 gauge, works fine now, I still have to sight it in. Half the fun was getting it to shoot reliably. I am getting a Mossberg 395K 12 gauge soon. I am looking forward to playing with it to be honest. Good cheap fun they are!
