Too good to be true?

Thanks All;
The phone # that he gave me for his work is a fax which nobody picks up when its left wringing. I 411ed the address and could not find his name matched to anything in the apartment complex. The gun is priced about 1/2 of the going rate of a new one and this was touted to be new unfired ---- guess I'll run away with my wallet still intact.
Cheers,John

It would be helpfull if you were to share the details of the add and the person to help any other potential buyers from being scamed

Munsterlander's are a real treat. I have been out with one before and she was a pleasure to observe. I currently have a GWP that has treated me very well..You can not beat a good hunting partner on 4 legs.

I agree, it sounds too good to be true. This is a great community, and I'm sure there are lots of people willing to act as a go between for the deal. I'm in manitoba, so if the gun's in winnipeg, pm me if you need my help. If he won't communicate with you at all, I smell a scam.

Un...frickin...believable....

You'd think that a slimy two-bit scammer can make a living by swindling furniture, X-Boxes or car tires but why in God's name would he involve guns, knowing full-well the extra legal implications.

Congrats to all the posters for steering the OP in the right direction!

The gun was on Firearms Canada site -- don't go there much -- the gun was a Remington Ruffed Grouse Society conservation Premier O/U and since I wotk for the Society, I wanted it -- I was suspect from the beginning as it was priced NIB AT ABOUT 1/3 of the retail. When I asked him if it would br good for the in law to pay for it and pick it up, he stopped responding Name (Michael Rogers of Sacarpborough On,)
Thanks to all for the advice -- guess I'll stick with good ole CGN.
Cheers, John

I just sold 1 gun and bought 2 others off of Firearms Canada with no problem. But you never know. I just had a fellow respond to me off of this forum trying to sell me a shotgun. He might have been legit but when I responded via the forum email it said this member requests that he no longer will accept emails. When I tried to use his regular email address that was listed in the reply it kept coming up notification failure, invalid address. I don't even know what his user name on the forum is as it didn't give it. So I just figured to heck with that seller.

Decided to take a gander on the Firearms Canada site, I wonder how long the new Browning Gran Prix Sporter for $1200. or the Beretta Prevail for $1600. will be for sale at such deep discounts ?:eek:
