hey guys, i have my 14 inch hp9 and i wanna get a longer barrel for it to use for clay shooting, and at some point deer hunting. is there any one barrel i should be after? i know there are different chokes and what not but is it as simple as taking a longer barrel and having it do both tasks efficiently or would i need seperate barrels?

no one can do it all
but you can pick up a 30" 2 3/4 only 870 bbl for $100 o nthe EE allmost anytime, that will do you for clays.
Then $200 or so for a deer bbl.

perfect thanks man, am i better off getting one that i can change chokes on or trying to see if i can find a cheap one and having it threaded and then buying the choke i want for it?

factory threaded will be better, dlask arms can thread remchoke pattern for $100, but you need a heavy bbl for that. cyl. bores are pretty much exclusive to short defender length barrels, pretty much all field barrels will have either a fixed choke or threaded for interchangeable chokes. Fixed chokes are moreso found on older barrels as interchangeability is very popular now.
