SKS Lower-fwd mounted flashlight- Curtton?

Hi Curtton or anyone else that's mounted a flashlight in the SKS ring below the bayonet, it looks like a silver mag-light in that sticky you have posted on SKS optics, mounts, etc... What kind of flashlight is it, and how did you secure it from sliding out when the rifle's muzzle is pointed down? It looks like a rubber or neoprene sleeve that you pushed up the back of the mag-light to secure it in place? Looks like a great idea for camp defence at night,
please let us know how you rigged it!
 
I mounted an LED Noma flashlight using a spare 1" scope ring. I will take pics and post, if you want. I have it on the front right side of a Tapco stock. Obviously it's not a tactical light, it's a 10 dollar Noma, but it fits and it works. I'll just do this preemptive strike before I post:

Left side mount for flashlight...

Sksavenger, I kinda agree with you, having the bayonet functionality would be a good thing, especially since we're limited to five round mags here in Canada. So, a tactical flashlight, will it mount to one of those two groove rails or do you need something longer? Where's a good site to find some hardware that would attach to the fore-end of the laminate stock on my SKS,
and then mount the flashlight beside the stock? Any ideas?

Actually your light shining on your frenzied, screaming face as you banzai charge the zombies with fixed bayonet would qualify as a force multiplier because zombies, like the indians in old cowboy movies, won't harm a madman. ;)
 
Figured it Out!

I spotted a "twin" barrel mount that has picatinny rails on both sides and the bottom. Looks like it'll clamp down securely, it's only $22 from SKS Man, and it doesn't interfere with the iron sights or bayonet. I've got a nice tactical light with 335 lumens that'll be shipped on March 17th, and a quick release mount that lets me pop the light off quickly if I want to use it elsewhere.

I talked to Paul at SKSMan, and he told me the tri-rail mount that fits over the barrel would interfere with the bayonet. So I went for a Leapers see-through scope mount, basically it's an SKS receiver cover with a square tube above it, to use your iron sights, and a picatinny rail on top, where I'll mount my Fenix (something-15) tactical light with 337 lumens. I'm also getting some phosphorescent lime green paint to put a dot on the front sight, and to accent the rear sight of my SKS. That'll make sighting easier in low light when I have the original Russian receiver cover on and not the light mounted rig. Anyone have the Leapers receiver cover see-through scope mount? I know they're not the best idea for mounting a scope and not having it lose zero, but I think it'll work just fine for a light. I was wondering if the see-through tube was large enough to make using the iron sights easy?
