I am of the same conclusion as Niko-PG. Unless you live in a rain forest the corrosive ammo doesn't seem to bother XCR. I have left mine for longer and longer periods of time, inspecting it periodically and have noticed no ill effects.
Well, I live in the Alberta desert. A friend took that attitude with an SKS. It was fine for a couple years. Then he left it for a couple of months stored the same as always. Picked him up to go shooting, and he had a long face, and a red fuzz encrusted non-moveable gun.
Do what you want, but if it were my rifle, hot water for everwhere that the gas could touch. Solvent for the chamber for the laquered cases. Then dry, and lube.
Because you can, and everyone loves shooting cheap ammo. Why would you put s**tty corrosive ammunition through a $2500 rifle?
