I signed up today for the 6-week, 36-hour course offered by SAIT in Calgary. Google "SAIT machinist gunsmith" and you'll find the course link.

There's plenty of room - too much, in fact, because if they don't get a few more sign-ups, they won't hold the course.

If you've ever thought of learning to chamber a barrel blank, cut and crown a barrel, or build your own custom gun, here's your chance, people. If we don't take courses like this one, the trade schools are going to stop offering them.

I wish you would have posted this earlier as I would have sighned up in a second! Would of loved to spend some time out west with the extended family and learn basic machining to boot! Do they hold this durring the summer? dale Z!

This has been posted about 100 times. It's an on-going course. In the past if enrollment for the symester is low, the course is cancelled until there is enough interest generated.

I dont want to be the spelling and grammer police..but seriously.

The last two posts were painful to read. Maybe take a spelling course at LCC instead.

LCC doesn't exist it's LC now. They took the community out of it... not sure why....

but anyways there seems to be a few lethbridge people interested in this. Who is the instructor in calgary, would he be willing or able to come down here, or does anyone know someone with the same knowlege and experience that could put it on down here?

As of this afternoon the course was canceled as there was not enough people, but don't take my word for it.

What kind of barrel and action is required for this course, anybody know? Any limits? I left a message with the instructor but no reply yet.
