I finally got set up to try out my S&W Model 10 in one of our weekly IDPA practices last night instead of my semi pistols. WHAT A BLAST! Things were a bit slow thanks to the grip I'm using slightly binding on the speedloaders but all in all it was a great beginning to using my wheelguns in competition on an occasional basis.

Pulling that whole 6 inches out of the holster was a bit like the Joker on the original Batman movie pulling that great long gag gun out of his pants :D I'm seriously thinking about either shortening the barrel or just "go with the flow" and look at selling a gun or two to finance a Ruger GP100 in 4.2. But since I've got so many K frame speedloaders I may just look at the shortened barrel option more closely. Besides, I prefer blued guns and like the size and feel of the K frames.

Next step will be to look at stuff to rig up for IPSC revolver.

Anyone else out there shoot revolver on a fairly regular basis in either event?

Hey fun isn't it. Changes the dynamics of the sport significantly. You have to shoot every stage as if it were Limited Vickers cuz extra reloads really do hurt. Just think of going through life in slow mo.:D

As an aside the GP-100 comes i a blued version as well as stainless. One for sell right now on the EE.

Yeah, I saw that and had to hold back on the reply button. I'd really rather explore my K frame options first so my supply of speedloaders can serve my Kommunal K frame Kollection..... :D

And Bob's reloads ARE REAL S L O W >>>> LOL

Welcome to SSR, I have been competing in SSR for the past 18 months, can't really see myself going back to SSP with my Glock. Get 12 snap caps and Practise, Practise, Practise your reloads.

Bob, take my advise. LOL

I shoot my Model 66 Smith 4" in IDPA but i haven't used it for a while so maybe it's time to get it out again.

I am too lazy to change the shell plate on the 550!

My reloads woiuld be faster if I could only learn to put those six long round thingees into those small six holes faster. In July it may come down to who can drink a beer faster....:D
