Any idea of the value of this signaling device?

It is a 2/3 scale model based on the British 6pd Field Gun c.1800.

Wheel diameter is 38" or 96.5cm, with wooden hub, spokes and iron clad wooden rim.

Gun length muzzle to trail end is 80" or 203.2cm. Barrel length is 45" or 114.3cm with a 2.63" or 6.7mm (tennis ball size) bore.

Width of gun-carriage with wheels attached is 54" or 37.16cm.

The propellant is loaded from the breech.

The wooden trail and carriage have two storage boxes, brass lunet and skid plate.

It has two sizes of threaded breech plugs, breech plug wrench, brass breech cover, tin water bucket, bore mop, ramrod, bore brush, equipment storage box and a gauge for measuring oranges.

The cannon breaks down into four pieces for moving and storage, two wheels - trail/carriage and barrel.

Within the context of what will the market bear, my guess would be $7 - 800. The carriage is the expensive part, particularly the wheels. It is a lovely gun

cheers Doug

Dam I'd take it for that price! I would hope it would fetch more. I am pretty sure I could sell it 10 times over for 7oo just to folks wanting an end of the driveway ornament. Really in alot of B.C if you drove around with that on a trailer and a 1000 dollar for sale sign (HONK TO BUY- WORKS-) it would sell very fast.

Can you tell us more about about the Barrel? manufacture etc. What are the two sizes of breech plugs for?

It would make an excellent goose gun for some farmer in the Fraser Valley! Just get 5 of your buddies with tags and a bucket of steel shot LOL.

That's cool. IF it can shoot projectiles I'd guess it should be worth $1000-$2000 range.
If it's just a noise maker, then $500-$600.
