So I started on a quest to auto-bolt release my SR-22, now I am stuck, can't seem to find a video on youtube for help and I have searched the threads through here. This picture will describe what stage I am at, but what's worse is the cross bolt for the mag release popped out on me as well, what else do I need to do to take this apart???? Do I need to take the barrel off to complete this or can I get it out without doing that?

thanks,

Start by removing the trigger group from the receiver with the two pins as you will need to install the new bolt release from above the trigger group.
You do not need to remove the barrel.

Will the pins in red release it?????? they seem to be in really tight? what is the best method for release?

and BTW this is a home job on the auto-bolt release, going to get the dremmel out.

Those are the pins... they can be tight, use a brass punch and tap through with a mallet

I'm likely to be doing this project myself too in the near future.

The pins that hold the trigger group in on my 10/22 usually need a pretty good whack. The pin that acts as the bolt stop basically just falls out if I tip the receiver on its side.

Also, it's better if you #### the hammer and let the bolt go forward before taking the trigger group pins out and removing the trigger group. I've not taken the trigger group apart before, but I know once it is out and you pull the trigger to uncock the hammer you'll have bits fly out so push down on the hammer when you pull the trigger and gently release the hammer so as not to have bits fly out.
