hey guys, my question today is...

i came across a winchester model 94 (i dont know what year it is :( ) and i was wondering how much they usually go for, used, of course. the place i passed through was asking 600. are they worth that? i've seen on EE that theres quite a few that are for sale and they're asking anywhere from $350 to $500, but not $600.

OH. also, it was a .30-30.

thanks alot. sorry for lack of detail

Sorry to be a #$% on this one but its like saying;

I came across a Diamond ring for sale, I don't know the size,color, or clarity. They're asking $6000 dollars but I've seen Diamond rings sell for $1000.
Is this a good deal?!

i know, and believe me.. i feel like an idiot for asking like this.. i assume this all means that there isnt a general or average price? i didnt think there was such a huge price difference. i'll give a call and see if they know

Depending on condition, a 30-30 should go for $300-$450 unless it belonged to somebody famous. I was at gun show yesterday and some were tagged at $1250+

It's sort of like those twits that are now asking $1500 - $2000 for an $800 Garand. Those with inflated prices will not sell in general.

I picked up a minty 1952 Winchester a couple of years ago for $300.

Values vary greatly with model, year and condition, we need more information to estimate a fair price.

just called and the most he could tell me off hand was that there is one thats a post '64 in good condition for $400 and a pre '64 thats in not as nice condition for $495. ..not a whole lot of information again i know. but, thats all they can tell me.

I'd say be patient and keep an eye on the EE. You'll likely find a nicer one for less money, trick is beating the rest of the vultures to it.

Have you seen it?, does it look great/,nice?, scratched up? I wouldn't be paying anymore than $400 for one in great looking condition. Also, does it have angle eject or top eject

yeah i was holding it and cycling at the shop, felt good and smoothe, no major scratches or anything. looked pretty good, but not spectacular. as for side or top eject, i've never heard definitions for either but if it is as literal as the name, then its top ejection

Really good deals, on high demand items, often are sold in minutes, I have made offers less than five minutes after the add was posted, and someone beat me to it. When prices are too high, or there is a low demand for the item, the ads remain for weeks, and even months.

9422s seem to be in even more demand than the centerfire 94s, a good deal rarely lasts an hour, if it lasts even a day, the price is likely too high.
