In this post I've decided to put all TT proof stamps together. This is only a beginning, I'll do more research and will update the post(awaiting on the arrival of catalog from Russia)
These were photographed from the original WWII bringbacks, so no refurb marks here. Presented are 1934 Tula TT30, first transitional variant and 1941 Tula TT33.(Later will post all original 1952 Izhevsk).
Please note, that some stamping did change depending on the year of production, especially after 1944.
On 1934 TT I noticed that the serial number has two different types of font with the last 2 digits are slightly larger in size.
IMHO only, I think that these were made in batches of 100's(?), and after each part passed QC they were finally assigned the full serial #...(?) I haven't closely observed any 5 digit serial # ones, so if anybody has the one(s), please post.
IMHO these proof stamps can be divided into 2 parts:
Pistol's left hand side---manufacturing stamps, who made it and when
Pistol's right hand side---proof stamps
Star on small parts means that these parts were passed by the department of technical control(Tula plant).
The following are the meanings of the certain proof stamps:
"ПИ" in diamond, Dep. of Tech. Control, Tula
"ЗР" in circle, Dep. of Tech. Control, Tula
"ПМ" in oval, Dep. of Tech. Control, Tula
"И" in diamond, Dep. of Tech. Control, Tula
"ТК" in circle, Dep. of Tech. Control, Tula
"У" in circle, strength proof, Tula
"П" powder(pressure) proof, Tula
"К" in circle, shooting accuracy(grouping) proof, Tula
"УК" in circle, strength, grouping, accuracy test.
"С" in circle, controller's acceptance mark
"П" in square, steel quality, accepted by state inspector.
If anybody has any more info, pictures of your actual guns please share and add on to this. I'll do more research and will update this post in future.
