Once in a while one finds a real treasure. And one didn't even expect it.
Just got this pre-61 Cooey Model 60 today and although advertised as "very nice" I didn't know if I should trust the description...
Well, it is, in a word, PERFECT.

And just to think that those were supposed to be inexpensive, basic utility rifles in their time. Oh my, times have sure changed.
Just you take a look at these pictures....

The rifle is all original, never refinished and possibly unfired. Needless to say, it's a keeper and I don't know if I'll ever sell it considering what these actually go for these days

Very nice indeed. Too bad about the stupid ugly sticker wrecking the whole look!!
Beautiful Ontario Walnut from the Coburg area as well!!

Had one back in the mid 50's. Got it by hunting up lost golfballs at the local course when I was 12. Coincidentally I think it cost about 22 dollars brand new. Sold it like an idiot during hard times a few years later. Those 22's were really accurate.

Wish I still had it!

You have a beautiful acquisition there!

Hang a MacLeods Hardware price tag on it and you will cause a rift in the time / space continuum! Very nice.

Wow, what a nice specimen! I didn't grow-up shooting firearms, it was air rifles until I got my FAC. Sort of feel like I missed the boat...having never owned a Cooey. Not sure buying one now would make much sense (nor would buying any more rimfires :) ) but MAN...that thing is a beauty for sure.

I'd say "don't ever sell that"...but I'm more tempted to say "What do you want for it?" lol

Thanks for sharing the photos.
