Well I know that Ruger adding the 9.3x62 to its M77 lineup has been discussed, but I wasn't aware until today that Remington is now producing their Core-lockt ammo in 9.3X62. It really does seem to be making inroads in North America. I'm planning to buy one and am glad to see more off the shelf ammo choices as I havent gotten into reloading yet.

Hope it's decent stuff, I wasn't able to get the ballistics to come up with the the "compare selected" option. But it is kinda hard to screw up the 286gr load and the Core-Lokt will be a fine bullet at 9.3 speeds. The more people making guns/ammo in 9.3 the better!

Ballistics look good. My .350 Rem. Mag. is probably pretty close, but will not manage quite as much bullet. More energy with a .350 in 250 gr. than a 62's 286 gr. mind you. Would like to shoot one. Hope they will chamber one in a popular domestic rifle soon.
It seems to be doing quite well here. And why shouldn't it. It's another tried and true African Cartridge. Right along with the 375 H&H. For some reason Americans seem to have an aversion to Metric Cartridges. Even some of us Canadians. Some can't comprehend anything more than the 30/06.
The 9.3x62 is a very versatile Cartridge it's Nice to see that Ruger is cambering it.

It certainly is a mainstream cartridge in Europe, especially Germany. It has alsways been popular in former German colonies in Africa. North America is just a little slow. It is a very decisive cartridge for driven game, and is well liked for its ability to take all of the fight out of wild boars. I'd like to acquire one if I can find the right rifle.

Well we shouldn't. But it seems longevity means nothing around here. It seems that the upstarts get all the press. Even if they are still in diapers and sucking on a soother.

gives about 3650lbs of energy at the muzzle. A .300 win mag with a 200g bullet at 2850fps gives about the the same, 3650lbs at the muzzle. In "real" life, which is more effective at putting game down quickly? Just as a reference, a .375 H & H with a 300g bullet at 2500fps gives about 4350lbs at the muzzle.

You are asking that after all the time you spent argueing on the various 375 forums ??
It doesn't take rocket science to understand that the 375 Ruger will drive a bigger bullet faster with flatter trajectory does it ??
My 9.3x62, good rifle that it was couldn't compare to either my 375 H&H or Ruger.
As far as I was concerned my 9.3 was really no more than a 36 cal. Whelen.
Ya gotta love the ballistic argument. But what effect in reality does it have on game? What kind of game in this Country will it not kill successfully? I have shot a few Rifles in 300 win mag. And the 9.3x62 is much nicer to shoot.
You asked the question .. Why prefer the 375 Ruger over the 9.3x62 .... I say Why not ??
