Can you get lucky twice in the same day?
Apparently!
Here's the second hidden treasure I acquired last week together with my Cooey M60 - a beautiful BRNO 581 semi automatic. My rimfire collection now has two crown jewels!

Real nice, I have a few over last 3 years, finnaly let go of the last 2 and kept my mint 1972 vintage gun! What year is your 581?

581's have a much better stock desighn than the CZ511 and weight a little less due to this, cheers Dale Z!

Mine is a 1975. All the metal is minty. The stock is nice and shiny but has some minor dimples/ marks, luckily only skin deep - mostly in the finish. Wood is beautiful and intact without dents, scratches or cracks. I am very tempted to strip and refinish. Then it's minty all over.
You are right, it is solid but surprisingly light and for some reason has a "military" look and feel to me. I'm thinking a milsurp-style sling is on order ;)
I will be taking it to the range on Monday to sight-in the scope.
Also, have two extra magazines coming soon. I got the rifle for a great price so I don't mind the extra expense for those.
When I got it it was pretty filthy inside (unfired since late 70-ties) but it cleaned-up perfect. I'm surprised how easy it is to field-strip - I wish my SR-22 was nearly as simple. No tools required whatsoever!!!

Absolutely not!

Just like classic cars and classic guitars, they are only original if they stay as they came from the factory.

Looking at the pictures, If that beatuy was mine (and I know it isn't) I would enjoy it as-is.

I've only seen 1 Brno semi in about 30 years shooting.

Beauties that are "out of my league"...Kind of neat thing, here on CGN there seem to be camps about rifles. This is one of the few that doesn't seem to have polarization. I doubt there are ANY Brno nay-sayers...you have a (couple of) nice .22(s).

Took my BRNO to the range today. After roughly sighting in a scope (no benchrest, just a couple of sandbags) this is the best 5-shot group was able to get from 50 yards on the 4inch target with winchester dynapoints. Not bad for a lousy shot like myself!

I can tell this rifle can handle a much better shooter:cool: And it needs one or two clicks to the right perhaps. I need to get me some sort of vise to immobilize the gun first though.
