Then I was on youtube watching nunfancy, he (or his son) was using a mosin nagant in all black (used duracoat paint) and it looked amazing!

I am thinking of doing an SKS in all black, just going over the wood. or even painting up all the metal.

Does anyone have pictures of painted sks or svt40?

Thanks

NEVER PAINT A SVT40 PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ITS A PIECE OF WW2 HISTORY ... If you want something tacticool put a tapco stock on a SKS without permanently altering it.. Dont listen to that mall ninja nunfancy he would duracoat his own mother..

do it to a sks if you must , and use a product called " por15 " , if applied properly , it doesn't come off .... ever .... even to the point that it is very difficult to sand ( or grind off ) when fully cured .

if you get it on your skin , it will stay there till it wears off ( roughly 2 to 3 weeks )

Painting an SVT and talking about it here gets a house call from Skirsons :p

No really, that's the mark of Bubba. If you hop over onto the Red Rifles forum you'll find all kinds of tacticool mall-ninja lunacy being inflicted on SKS rifles. Might even find a deal on one of those super accurate pistol grip stock thingies!

please don't!
the last time i went to the gun show in longueiul there was a guy who had camo painted the stick and metal on the svt-40. he almost made me puke!
not to mention that he was asking something around 650$

If you must permanently modify a SKS, please pick a commercial Chinese SKS, without any historical significance...

Yes, OP, please don't destroy any history. I'll sell you my Chinese Commercial SKS for $150 if it will save an innocent rifle from being "nutnfancied" (a fate worse than bubba'd)...

I say do it. There is no historical signifigance to a SVT 40. Next thing people won't be walking on the gravel in their driveway because it was around when Jesus died ;)

You guys sure seem to take an awful interest in commanding another man on what he may or may not do with his own property if it does not suit your particular tastes.

We are simply encouraging him NOT to ruin a piece of history. By painting an SVT-40 black, he is going to ruin any milsurp historical value, make it look like crap and cut its cash value in half. Seems like reason enough not to bubba it. Why not buy a Norinco SKS ( which is worth half an SVT-40) and play with it?

Just when you think the NuthinFancy "Duracoat Syndrome" was dying down...
