Hey all,

This is my first serious grouping I've done with my Mosin 91/30, bought from Trade Ex a few weeks ago, GRETA service BTW. The shooting was done with irons obv:p. I was shooting Prvi Partizan ammo...SP BT 150gr. The rest was nothing fancy, only a notched 2x4

I've shot off some ammo before this at steel gongs, and 2L bottles and was playing with the sights a bit to make sure they were good. Oddly...the irons were set for 50yards, well tech "meters" when I was shooting at 100 yards and them seem to be bang on.

Something I learned...shooting a target with very little colour on it on white paper with a white (snow) background makes seeing the target a pain. So next time I plan to have a more colourful target. So between that and more practice I think I can inprove my grouping:)

When I got mine I found it shoots about 9" high at 50 yards. I heard they were set for something like 300 yds. So I'll have to adjust the front sight pin sometime. Otherwise my Tradex looked very nice, all matching serial numbers. Your grouping isn't too bad for the first few shots.

Try putting the bayo on first, you might be surprised.

they shoot high because they were sighted in with the bayonet on

Russian soldiers were required to have bayonets fixed at all times. there were no scabbards or frogs issued for the MN bayonet.

X2, my 1944 Tula ex sniper shoots way high and to the right without the "pigsticker" attached. When it's in place, I get "cloverleaf" groups at 100M, and can hit the gong at 200 M consistently. (with 147 GN Czech silvertip surplus ammo)
