A good punch set?

Can someone recommend a half-decent AND inexpensive punch set? I am no gunsmith, so I don't need anything that'll last 50 years with my use, which is very infrequent.

I have a brass punch set from PrincessAuto but need stronger steel pin and (maybe) roll punches in 1/16, 3/32, and 1/8". I tried to remove the extractor pin on the Shadow using the brass punch, but it is not strong enough for the job. Princess has a "9 pc 4" Pin Punch Set" for $6.99 but I don't know if it is any good.

Or is it better to just get a couple of common-size pin punches instead of a set? Can someone pls. recommend the most common sizes and where to get them? CZ Custom Shop has a punch for every occasion it seems...

I got this Lyman hammer & punch set from Brownells a couple years back. It's got everything I need for my Sigs, S&W revolvers and 1911s. I'm not sure how adapted it is to the Shadow, but it's got all the punch sizes you specified.
 
I probably have the same Princess Auto set, and I do have the same pistol. I was able to get my pin moving by compressing the extractor (push in at the rear, against the spring, while tapping the pin out. But, yes, the brass 1/16 is like trying to push string!

Well, same here, I started with a tapered steel punch I have, then compressed the extractor spring & pushed the pin out with the brass punch. Didn't feel right though. :D This is the 1st time I removed the extractor in over 1.5years of shooting, I felt so ashamed when I saw the crud collected under. :redface:

Too bad I placed an order yesterday with Midway, they have a couple of Lyman sets...
 
Strangly enough, I was just looking for a set and ended up with this Stanley set from Home Depot to detail my BHP. It is obviously very strong and worked well for the gun.

I managed to take the whole darn gun apart and back together, with the exception of one of the trigger pins. I didn't really need the cold chisels, but for $24 I was ok as each of the separate punches were about $8 each anyway (not that I could find them all).

This looks perfect, do you remember the punch sizes (the web site doesn't list them). If the smallest punch is 1/16", I'm buying! :)
 
For the Home Depot set, search their homedepot.ca site for "16-299" - that's the Stanley model number, and looks like $24.99 in stores. Looks like a nice steel set. If only they'd make "brass-tipped" steel punch sets!

Edit: Nice Snap-On set Stainless... Roll pins always make me nervous. (Especially the gas block AR roll pin) - I should get a real roll-pin-punch-set.

I found a small set at Amazon at 1/2 price, but I think the rest of your set is still worth having:

I have that exact same one, but without the hammer. Without the hammer it's $20. It's a cool looking hammer though for another $20 extra, and probably more classy than me using a screwdriver handle as a hammer.
