Do any of the site sponsors sell the 6 round tacstar side saddle for the mossberg 500? I would prefer to not order from brownells. Thanks for the help.

Yep, they both have them.
You might want to take a look at S&J Hardware's elastic shell carrier as well.
Both are pretty decent in terms of price.

Agreed. They work fine. The Mesa units are prettier and might take being bashed against a doorframe better... so don't bash your sidesaddle against a doorframe.
That's what you should have said in the first place. Saying "TacStar is junk" is incorrect, misleading and unhelpful to the OP, who was asking where to buy one, not whether they were any good or not.
More money doesn't always mean you get a better product.
In terms of form and function, the Tac Star fits the bill at the price of bulk. Mesa has form, function, no bulk, but high price.
I am going to be switching to S&J's elastic carriers for this reason. I've been waiting for some time to get a quality made in Canada product for something like this.
Addresses all the issues I have running a sidesaddle at a economical price. If it ever breaks, I'll have money to pick up alot of spares.

I like the TacStar better because you can actually store shells in it. I have to take the shells out of my Mesa every night or the rubber grippers compress and don't hold the shells after a couple of weeks. I wish I had bought the TacStar instead of listening to the MESA is best crowd

Mesa is more highspeed. Like Kim mentioned, the rubber bushings are finicky. Once worn they are 'replaceable' but that's stuff I don't want to have to fiddle around with for a simple carrier.
Tacstar is bulky but not that heavy and generally very cheap to replace the whole thing. ie you can buy two and come out spending less than one Mesa.

I have pretty much decided on the tacstar for a variety of reasons but thanks anyway for the advice. Also thanks for the info on retailers I will check TSE.

I don't think Mesa's are worth the price for my type of intended use. I don't like the rubber and never had issues with shells falling off a TacStar, I don't have a need for the serial number cutout as I know exactly what guns I have in my inventory, I don't believe bulk has anything to do with saddle function, I'm more concerned with weight and I certainly couldn't care about how pretty it looks.
How can TacStar's be bulky? With shells installed, aren't they the same size? After all, side saddles are for carrying shells on them not for size comparison being empty. When you store your gun in a case, is the gun considered bulkier?
I'm not saying the Mesa saddle is a bad product. It does possess unique qualities certain people "may" need. However, we do get sold on items that do way more than they'll ever use them for. For me, a Mesa saddle is just that at twice the price.
In fact, I choose not to use EITHER myself for several reasons. Unless you need shells available at all times with the gun when you reach for it, you'd be better served with a few 4 round competition shotshell carriers instead. And cheaper yet.
For these reasons, I resent people who slander something without realizing everyone has different needs and choices are out there to serve a larger consumer base more specifically tailored to their needs.
Ive got a Tacstar on my 870 and the S&J elastic on my Mossy 930.
I have no issues with the Tacstar. The S&J is a little lower profile but you really don't knowtice it. Never owned a Mesa.
The only gripe about the S&J is (and its pretty minor) it that its a bit of a pain to put the shells into if you are doing it alot practice reloads. For the TS you just pick up 2 shells out of the box, slide them in, Boom, Boom and repeat.
For the S&J you have to wiggle them in a little each time.
The nice thing about the S&J is you can cut out a little window in the base velcro for the serial number without affecting the function... if you ever needed to show the ser number to anyone. I punched 2 holes in mine for the take down pins, so removing the trigger assembly is a snap. Not so much with the TC.
Still when the TacStar for the Mossy 930 starts to show up in Canada I will probably get one.
