Hi guys, just want to ask you what is the actual market price for a COLT LE 6920 cal 5.56 with 16' bbl model unfired in brand new condition, this carbine was made aprox 1999-2000
It is a long time when I bought the last time an AR 15 and for sure don't have any Canadian dealer price list to get a related price for a brand new Colt LE 6920
Thank you in advance and your price quotas will be highly appreciated!

The truth is that it is worth "what the market will pay". Since it is rare that US State Department approves export permits for these anymore, the supplies is extremely limited. When demand outpaces supply, prices are driven upwards.

Because there have been a fair number of LE6920's (maybe 50 units) imported the past 3 or 4 years the prices are slightly inflated but not too bad (better than they used to be before they started to trickle in again)... but if you were talking something like a LE6921 (real one) or an LE6933 then the price skyrockets simply because there haven't been new ones available for years and demand so exceeds supply that people who want one will outbid the competition to get it.

Colts more often than not are overpriced. I have owned and/or used a boatload of Colt's and all have given excellent and reliable service. Having said that though, I wouldn't pay today's inflated prices for one. Have a look at what Primary Weapons Systems (PWS) has to offer. Questar carries PWS. If I was going to spend big bucks on an AR platform again I would be looking at PWS first.;)

Ya, but you can find a 6921 in the US advertised for $1450, so they should be the same price here, maybe add $50 for postage. Same for the 6920.

But the LE6921 is a CLASS III Firearm in the US and State Department is very unlikely to issue you an export permit to send it out of the US legally... so the gun might be worth $1,500 or $1,600 US but remember that to purchase one in the US you must wait months and get ATF approval and pay the tax stamp ($300 if memory serves)... and even if you can purchase it in the US, what is the value of the export paperwork to legally get it out of the US?

Selling price in the US is meaningless when there are barriers to entry that make supply impossible or rare. When supply is limited or controlled by regulations and restrictions then what you are paying for is as much the paperwork as it is the merchandise... even more than that the value becomes a function of how rare and how difficult the item is to actually get.

If it's a 6921 it will say M4LE on the side of it and have a 14.5" barrel. There is only around 25 in Canada.
