Need help here. Set or adjustable. Seekonk or California torque wrench ?

Reason Night Force is 68 inch pounds. Leupold is 65 in some rings and Farrell is 50-55. T handles are pre set. But Brownels has only 65 inch lb Seekonk.

Anyone sell here the 68 inch pound night force T handle ????

Check with your local transmission mechanic, inch pound torque wrenches are used for valve bodies etc...remember your talking about less than 1 foot pound difference so a cheap torque wrench will be all over the place with that low of a spec.

Snap-on makes nice 1/4" drive torque wrenches, use them all the time on gas turbine engines, tons of bolts and nuts are torqued to 28-35in/lb's.

Thanks Have Wheeler FAT WRENCH for base screws and ring screws.

Attaching the the lower rings to the base is the issue. Each manufacture gives a different Inch Pound. Night Force 68 Leupold 65 and Farrell 50 to 55 DEPENDING ON RINGS.

The idea of an adjustable torque ratchet wrench will cover everything. Seekonk has a dial one . Settings 0 to 75 inch pound. But not sure it it releases at set number. Their single setting T handle ones do release like the Wheeler screw driver.

Mine, happens to be a Snap-On, is a dial that doesn't release, and I actually like that better....when walking torque up in increments, ya don't have to keep resetting the wrench. To me, its just as easy to watch a dial.

I've used the CDN tire in-lbs torque wrench, and it's way too big and clumsy for gunsmithing work.

That's why I bought the Borka. It has an audible and "feelable" click when you hit the proper torque.

Thanks for all the in put. Reason I've put off building my F/TR in 308 way to long. Savage has been a safe Queen. Have a Night Force 12x42 56mm for it.

The other two safe queens are all waiting for their scopes. Mystic set me up with lots of Farrell equipment. All are Savage rifles. The toy is the Savage 10 BA. Going MIL DOT on that one.

When done will post photos of the family. May have to go back to work , being retired is expensive.

Canadian tire 1/4 inch torque wrench it is in inch pounds.

and is on sale 1/2 off tomorrow

For all the folks using them, if you want the torque wrenches to remain accurate they need to be tested and calibrated regularly, particularly the adjustable mechanical "click" type. - dan

thats why I have a mastercrap 1/2 inch torque wrench. every 2 years I bring it in and say it dosent work and I get a new one... Dont even need a receipt...
