Worst/Best .22 Ammo You Have Ever Fired?

Until I bought the GSG, the box of 333's just sat there giving me smug looks, like it thought it would last forever, now the GSG eats it like candy, so it's just remington ammo that sucks too bad to ever buy again.

Worst: Remington Shorts - green box. About half would hit the dirt 25 feet in front of the gun, spit back around the bolt and the magazine and make your ears ring
Best: CCI mini-mags, zero incidents, good accuracy and potent effect on varmints

I notice SK is missing from Ron's list.

Lapua Club and Super Club have been replaced by SK since I did the testing. Same stuff, off the same assembly line, different box. I did not test Club, but expect it would rank a little lower than Super Club.

The worst,I don't see the point in trying to recollect - the best is a batch of Eley Black Box Match. Shot very well out of several rifles. I have about 3 bricks left.

the best for me are the federal bulk packs with the winchester bulk stuff a close second.the worst i ever shot was the old imperial stuff in the little plastic box with the sliding cover.a co-worker had bad luck with winchester wildcats one box had 6-8 rounds that the cases were crushed flat in the middle.

Pretty much all I've tried are listed in the table below from best to worst. For others not listed Eley Tenex and CCI Green Tag are right near the top. Remington Target was below average, and about the poorest I've tested for target ammo. Remington Sub Sonics were much better.

What was the test gun?

Worst .22lr I had was a bad batch of Federal 525rnd bulk/value pack. Most shots were very underpowered, lots didn't even cycle the bolt. I even had one round get stuck half way in the barrel because of how undercharged they were. Good thing I was paying attention, could have ended badly.

Wow you really hit a bad batch of ammo ........considering that BB caps will fire with no powder. The bullet has enough power to exit the barrel with only the primer as a propellant.
Either something was very wrong with your rifle/pistol or your story just doesn't add up?
