Bushnell 3200 Elite any good?

Does anybody have any experience with this scope? I'm looking to buy an entry level scope for a 30-06 that'l hold zero good. so i've come down to the bushnell or a Leupold rifleman scope..


is it worth going to the leupold over the bushnell? its a bit higher in price but i know they have a really good name.

any comments welcomed! and recommendations in the 300$ range
 
I have the 3200 with rainguard. Very good scope for the money. Personally, I would spend the big bucks on a spotting scope or binoculars since you will spend much more time looking through them. Rifle scope has to be reliable, hold zero and keep bullets in the cross hairs at all power settings. My 3200 does all of that.
 
buddy of mine has the 3200 10x fixed on his .22-250 Rem700 that he loves.
 
The Elite 3200 offers a few different reticles.
I am not a big fan of the Multi-plex.
Check out the DOA 600 or the ballistics.
Bushnell has a video on the DOA 600 and it is worth watching.
I am hoping my old 3000 B&L is going to be replaced with it.
The Euro 4A is another worth considering.
Find a shop that has them in stock and go lookyloo at them.

I have had good luck with the two scopes in the Bushnell "legend" series (one below 3200) and both have held zero and both are actual 1/4" clcks adjustments at 100 yards.

3200 scopes should be even better?

If I'm not mistaken, all the 3200 and 4200's have rainguard. The only exception might be very early production scopes. Bushnell added the rainguard when they upgraded from the 3000/4000 to 3200/4200.

I've had/have several in both lines, great bang for the buck. The only real negatives for me are the lack of both eye relief and reticle choices. The only 3200 with decent ER is the 5-15x40AO (over 4"). I wish Bushnell offered single dot or fine plex reticles, would get all of my business if they could improve both of these features.

same experience here...I have a 5-15x40AO on my CZ .17HMR and a 2-7x32 on my .375Win levergun. Love them both, the 5-15 is nearly perfect on the .17. I find the glass to be slightly better on the Legend compared to the 3200 but no rainguard. :( Pretty sure the Legend is discontinued, replaced by the Trophy XLT.

Agreed. Usually you will see used 3200 in the EE going for that price.

As already mentioned, the 3200 does have rain guard. I have hunted with both the 3200 and the 4200, and the 4200 is better scope, but for $200 you still have a very nice scope if you choose the 3200, but for less money than a 4200, I would buy the Burris FFII. Put one side by side, and I can not tell the difference, in fact I think the Burris is sharper than the 4200 on the outside edge of the lense. The Burris is much clearer and sharper in low light situations(early and late afternoon hunts) than the 3200. The Burris usually sells for around $250
