GSG...not sure I see what all the hype is about

Check the number of dots on the left side of the sight. Mine came with the medium (2 dots) installed and it shoots high. I had some adjustable sights installed and counldn't bring it down enough so I just installed the high one (3 dots). Hopefully it should be right on POA next time I hit the range :)

+1

Mine was shooting high & to the right when I shot it right out of the box. Installed the highest front site & tweaked the rear site a tad [it is adjustable right or left for "windage"] and now mine shoots to the point of aim.

Inside of 15 yards it's deadly:

Ive never been interested in any type of .22lr handgun. I never saw the point of spending that kind of money when i could get a 9mm.

Because you can shoot a brick [500 rounds] of .22lr for a lot cheaper than the same amount of 9mm will cost you [even if you reload].... ;)

Cost hasnt been that big of an issue for me, got a good job. I shot 45 more then 9mm these days. I did sell my 44 and 357 though, that was getting pricey.

I kinda agree with you, I have owned several nice .22 pistol including a Ruger 2245 and a NAA mini master, while I enjoy to own them but they never gave me any excitement when fire them. I sold my mini master and use the money and got a Norinco 1911 and couldn't be happier.

Yup, i like to feel like im shooting a gun when i shoot a handgun. I wouldnt go less then 9mm.

I'm not a huge .22 fan either; started with a 9mm, second gun was a .44mag...then several guns later down the road I figured I NEED a .22 as a warm up gun. I didn't get the GSG for anything else other than a warm up gun, cheap shooting fun.

The GSG is great for the Kids.... Please someone think of the children that cant shoot .45 yet...

I can wait for my 8 year old to try it out...

I like most wanted something easy on the bank, and its nice that you dont have to leave the range as soon as you run out of the big boy ammo.

But another reason was so that I had a nice introduction gun to first time shooters. The joy of the gsg is, once they are comfortable with it, I can simply upgrade them to my colt 1911. Same funstions, different ammo. It makes muscle memory easy for the begginer, instead of going, "ok, you did great on the gsg. Now lets try this gun, oh and the safety is here, and the mag release is over here..."

And well, I think its just fun plinker

And not just for the "little kids" either.... ;)

In handguns I've owned & shot [a lot of] .22 short; .22lr; .25ACP; .32 short/long; .32ACP, .380 ACP; .38 ACP; .38 Super; .38 Special; .357 Mag; 9mm; .40 S&W; 10mm; .41 Mag; .44 Mag; .45 ACP; .45 Auto Rim; .45 LC; & .455 Colt/Webley/Eley.

I've literally shot thousands of .38 Spl; .357 Mag; 9mm; .40 S&W; & .45ACP.

So, maybe the novelty of the "big boy stuff" has worn off a bit. These days, while a range trip undoubtedly involves brining along some sort of centerfire handgun to keep it interesting, I've also found that since it's purchase my GSG also makes the trip each time.

I think it's great for what it is - cheap to shoot, well-made compared to other similar .22s, awesome reputation and reliability so far, handles exactly like a fullsize 1911 (a little lighter), and a good starter/warm-up pistol for anyone to have in their range case.

If you're so rich can you please sent a case of .45 ACP and 9 mm my way? :D

Every shooter should have a .22. You can shoot all day for a pocket change and no recoil.

Not really brother, I sold all my .22 because of no recoil, don't have a feeling of firing a real gun. having said that .22 is good to kill some more time at the range.

GSG is nice for a change but after 300 rounds in I'm always getting bored with it . Like every other 22lr I'm missing the bang and kick of my 9mm. Also don't like the little holes 22lr is making , sometimes its hard to see where you are hitting. But for the price its still fine.
