i bought a utg brand weaver rail scope mount for my hp9. its meant for an 870 and as it turns out the holes were off by just a hair. just enough to not fit. well i tried to make them fit and one got stuck and required the professional use of a pair of big pliers a hammer a punch and some other goodies. needless to say i broke the pin trying to get it out so im gonna try to replace it with one that goes all the way through and ill just a nut on the other end of it. ive got a feeling ill have to drill out the threaded side a little to make it fit so ill need to improvise a little. maybe it was the product itself or maybe the holes are off by just a hair between the hp9 and the 870

The rail itself was more than likely the problem. I have a Rhino Rail, meant for the 870 on my HP9 with no problems at all. The trigger pins are spaced perfectly. Check the link in my sig for pics.

UTG is for airsoft its not made for firearms, many use it but its crap.
I have used many brands of sidesaddle and saddle rail mounts on hp9 and they all fit.

I have the Tacstar 870 sidesaddle, the holes fit very well on my hp9.

I guess if you buy toys trying to save money they might not fit.

This thread is incorrect and makes false claims.

This isn't a HP9 / 870 compatability issue, but UTG making products not meant for real guns. It wouldn't fit on a 870 either.
