Mosin Nagant kB!

Wow - I have never even heard of anything like that before. Ive fired tons of Mosins and the worst thing I have ever seen is a few cracked steel cases. As to the comments about someone using it as a club - Im pretty sure thats impossible.

I think the quality control officer at the factory was recovering from a night out at the bar or away on leave. I have no idea how a crack like that can form on the receiver, the hex ones are suppose to stronger in theory. In the end, I am glad no one was hurt, just shows how strong these babies are even when there is a major failure in the firearm.

WOW, just WOW! I've seen barrels give up like that (M-305) but I've never seen a receiver blow like that!!! Very luck guy!

Good call on the lottery ticket...

I have absolutely no idea why it would fail. There's just as much chance of their "super safe laser etching technology" damaging the receiver as any other theory presented...

not that it matters but that looks

like dot peening ala engraving pencil. As for the rifle I have no idea what could cause that. Bullet in barrel maybe?

The import marking would not have caused that.

Rust inside the "break" indicates the condition has been there awhile.

Bubba repair job ?

I agree on the rust indicated a previous crack and the clean grey is the successive fracture of the action.

It would not be a bubba repair job, could be a brittle action? Would be curious on the action manuf date?

Any rifle can KaBoom, even rifles made by Ivan, so get over it! Looks like the Hammer and Sickle fell off too. LOL

Mausers are the Best! Just say Oberndorf.
