Ontario restricted transfer times?

Still waiting on 2 from Jan but dont want to rock the boat on these so Ill just sit quietly and wait.

Mention of being penalized because you dare to call the CFO office to inquire about your transfer is BS in my experience. I've always found the ladies there very helpful, friendly, and even eager to go the extra mile in finding out the status of my applications.

In fact I'd have to say that I never experience service nearly as good from any other federal or Ontario provincial government department. The fact that you can even get a hold of a human on the phone places them miles ahead, let alone having them call you back when they promise.

While I hate the fact that the CFO has to even exist in the first place, I have to give the folks who work there some credit. The gals there aren't scary. Honest.

I will agree that the girls taking the calls and doing the status check are very nice and friendly. I think it is the ones who are actually doing the transfers that put the paperwork of those who call back to the bottom of the pile.

Well as anecdotal as this is, that hasn't been my experience. And being an impatient sort, I tend to call a lot and know a couple of those gals by name. :D

On a humorous note, this is like thanking your dungeon master for only torturing you lightly today.

But, on to my own experiences...I have mentioned this before, but it has taken anywhere up to several weeks for me to get a restricted transfer approved: and all have been from a dealer.

I purchased 2 handguns sames day. Called to complete the transfers for both the same day. The one from a dealer was approved within 2 days. The one from an individual was 3 weeks.

My new CZ was bought from a dealer on the 25th and just now today it got approved and the paperwork is in.

Pretty much one day as I sent in my information this time yesterday also.
