FN Indian touble

When I pull the trigger my safety unlocks itself and the gun fires (I'm just dry-firing it) anybody have a clue what could be wrong?

can you take a pic of the safety sear and post it sounds like it may have been filed . Marstar has parts for the FN if that is the case

You care to explain what possible relationship the safety sear could have to the issue at hand? The parts are nowhere near each other.

For what it's worth, my Ishapore FN does the same thing. It's a combination of the angle cut on the selector shaft and the looseness of the selector shaft in the receiver. Probably nothing to be done, short of just replacing the selector with a British or Canadian part.

Yes your right My Blunder In typing from my I phone . Non the less Marstar will have the parts he Needs My Ishapore does not do this couple of ones I worked On did ever thing had been filed to attempt the Full auto game.

SHOULD be, but no guarantee. Indian rifles were made from drawings based on reverse engineering sample rifles, both "metric" FN FALs and "inch/commonwealth" L1A1s. They didn't get any license or tech support from FN or anybody else.

Indian IAs have features of both metric AND inch rifles, so some parts interchange with metric but not inch rifles and vice-versa, and some parts may be unique and not interchange at all. They tend to be a bit more inch than metric, which is why many people put Canadian wood and dustcovers on them to make a pseudo-C1A1.

Just for the hell of it, I came home from work tonight and wanted to try something. I swapped all my Ishapor trigger components to my NZ FN and vice versa. It is all interchangable between the Enfield built L1A1's, the NZ L1, and the Ishapore. Everything functioned smoothly. I will keep my eyes open for the parts at the Kamloops gun show and get them. Cheers, Pierre
