7.62x25 ammo??

Just stumbled upon this thread while searching through after joining and I have to say I am really looking forward to this ammo coming in as well. I just bought a TT33 on the weekend so I will pick up a couple crates for sure!

Not to cause a panic with wild unsubstantiated rumors but I just got off the phone with the local gun shop here in Nova Scotia, these guys:
http://lequillecountrystore.com/

I asked about 7.62x25 He said that there was a massive shipment in Canada but it had been SEIZED... said something about the RCMP not liking the "zippy" round and how it can pass through most police soft body armor. I mentioned that most any rifle can too but he said its a handgun making it more concealable (..... not that any rifle cant be made to CCW easily either via a hacksaw).

I really hope this stuff gets back on the local market so I can fire some cheap ammo at cans at my gun club

[start sarcasm]
Ill translate that for whoever seized the ammo "I really hope this stuff gets back on the black market so I can fire some AP HE ammo at lots of cops on the streets"
[end sarcasm]

I am afraid our once respected mounties are living out fantasies at the expense of those they serve. They see threats everywhere. I do hope we can get more Tok ammo. It is a cheap alternative to other cartridges. Discouraging potential firearm owners via banning or artificially creating an ammunition scarcity or increasing the cost of buying it is the intent here.
Our police fear those they purport to serve.

Man I wish people would get their stories straght....
Frst of all it is NOT a massive shipment, only 1 million rds....
Second of all the importer attempted to import non-approved ammo, therefore it was seized....

The RCMP, as far as I know, had nothing to do with this.

So does this mean that whatever this shipment is it has nothing to do with 7.62x25 that you are bringing in, or are these shipments one in the same?

Sorry, just a little confused.....

Please take a moment to review what I said, "the importer attempted to import non-approved ammo, therefore it was seized...."

It had nothing to do with caliber but rather whether it was approved or not....

It is simply a matter of getting the ammunition approved BEFORE you attempt to import it.
