I have a price in mind but would like to hear your opinion on what a
Mint Rem 760 Carbine is worth. The wood and blue is in prestine condition. Would the selling price be more or less for a .308 compared to a 30-06 ?

Thanks
Tikka

Just to make sure we're on the same page, to me, MINT means: NO scratches, dents or rubbed finish on the wood. NO blueing wear, scratches or pits, and has never been touched up. Should at least appear to be unfired.
Maybe 500 to 600 bucks? I don't think the price would vary much between .308 and .30-06.

Look it over real well, especially for pits and rust in the chamber.
Remember they have not made the 760 since 1981.
The boys are kind at 500. That would be as new mint and the top end of the scale especially in 308 and 3006..
take care

You can still buy the 30-06 carbines new but the .308's are only available used and seem to be less common.
I'd say that makes the .308 worth a bit more then the 30-06 in the used market.

Thanks guys.
The gun has never been out in the bush and has never had a sling stud installed.
Thanks for the help on the price.

Add $150-$300 to a 308 carbine over a 30-06, depending on condition.

You have a line on one in 308?
Yes i do have two in my safe one in 30-06 that is also a Carbine and a as new one thats in 308. I'm keeping them, a Friend wants to buy the .308 but he wants it for less than the prices you guys have been telling me it's worth. I think I'm keeping it. Big following in the 760! More than i ever could imagine:redface:
Thanks again guys.

I still think you are pricing the 760 too high.
I collect 7600's and see a lot of 760 under 500.I only own one 760 however and it is in 222 which is a different league totally price wise
Epps just sold this one for 450 and it was in very good condition
REMINGTON 760 SLIDE .30-06 COMES WITH 3X9X40 BUSHNELL BANNER 18 1/2''BBL EXTRA SLING AND REAR SIGHT ( it is in fact still on the site listing)
There is a 760 .35 sitting in Ont with scope for 499 in nice shape one in NB 3006 fair for 299 with scope etc. They are out there if you look hard I guess.
Yes the 5 diamond wood will bring a bit more as will the 308 in 18 1/2 but not 30%.

Epps wouldn't list one in Excellent + to Mint condition for less than $525.00 and the other 2 are not carbines or in Excellent+ to Mint condition, in fact the one in NB is rated as Poor (if it is the same one) so I don't see how those compare but to each their own.

I sold one in 280rem last year on CGN for $575.00 with a old weaver 4X scope in good + condition and it only lasted about 10min and I had several other replies offering much more but I had got it at a good price so I passed it along to some other lucky CGN. I realize the 280 is worth more than the 308 but the 308 is worth more than the 30-06.

When was the last time you saw a Excellent + to Mint 760 in 308 Carbine sell for less than $575.00?

My apologies. I am not trying to argue just comment on what I have seen and I do watch these guns since I gather 7600 's plus with the thick woods we have down here there is a ton of them around in 7600 & 760 to look at.
Remember when new you didnot pay any extra for a carbine model so why the big difference when selling used. ??? If you want to pay over 500 for a used 760 that is 30 years old min when a new 7600 in 3006 carbine is 699 so be it.I will go new.
The 280 is a different animal. I paid more than new price for my 7600 280 but try to find one. Just like if I list my 7600 .257 think that will last 10 minutes.
I don't.
Do a search on the EE and there is a 760 3006 carbine sitting for 450 since mid jan . Might be sold I don't know.
When was the last time I seen a mint 760 for less than 575 in 308 C. Don't know but I bought a new unfired 7600 308 ( not carbine) for 500 last fall shipped two weeks before I bought your Tikka T3 ( which is a sweet gun as you know) . If one is not in a rush to complete their collection their are good deals out there on these guns.Remington made a boat load of them. Everyone thinks carbine is rare, no rare in these 760/7600 is 223, 7mm08, 260, 257 etc.
Take care

I have a .30-06 carbine that is a 7600 with synthetic stock. Love it. Bought it used, mint condition for $525 and I thought it was a decent deal. It only produces about 90 fps less than my 22 inch barrel on my Weathermaster .30-06 7600.

The weathermaster is a nice gun and a hard find in canada also.Lots of them in the US but it seemed not to many made their way up here especially the ones in 308.
