Switching shot in a factory shell.

I was wondering since I cannot locate 3.5" 00 buck if I could simply take a 3.5" 1 1/4 ounce #1 KENT FASTEEL shell, pull up the crimp and take 00 buck pellets from another shell and place these into the wad of the 3.5" shell? Would this create too much pressure within the gun? How about if I pulled the crimp and replaced the #1 shot with #8 and made some super charged long range trap loads? :p:p:p:p:p
 
I would probably take a lead load in 3.5" and maybe try that. steel is different from lead in the components and the power etc. lead is heavier than steel so I would guess there would be more pressure and other unforeseen issues. Iam no expert though.
 
In theory you can do it.
a few issues come to my mind:
-steel shotshells use a slower powder (which is not bad just different).
-the steel-shot wad-cups are longer and thicker. Not a deal-breaker either, but I don't know how the 00 buck will seat in.
- since lead occupies less volume you'll probably need to adjust the shot-column height with cardboard/felt/fiber discs.
- make sure you crimp properly and consistently (a loose crimp will get you less velocity)

Playing with lead shot shells is one thing playing with steel shot shells is NUTS.
I won't even use a universal bar in my MEC when reloading steel.I do it one shell at a time weighing every bit of powder and shot. A very slight change in any component can cause pressures that can quickly destroy you gun and you know what it can do to the person shooting the shell.
I load more steel than most in both 10 and 12ga and have seen what it can do if not loaded exactly per the manual..
Leave the steel shells alone please unless you are going to use proven published and tested combinations.
