LR Sightron ?

Hello ,

Thinking about trying out an SIII 8-32x on a .260 Rem. LR rig.
Nobody sells them around here,so I'm just wondering how they compare to the Leupold VX-3 8.5-25x that I am used to using.

Ya, I've got a Savage 12 LRP in .260 Rem coming:dancingbanana: and I'm considering a Viper PST 6-24x50 for optics. I was looking at Sightron, but I
want to go the Mrad route so Sightron doesn't fit. Mystic Precision (a site dealer) handles Sightron scopes, so you might give them a call (I think he goes
by the User Name: Mystic Player, but I'm not 100% on that).

Chuckhawks rates the VX-3 the same as the Sightron III, and the Bushnell Elite 6500. Optics Talk rates the SIII equal to the Mark 4 VX-III. The VX-3 rates one step higher, and the Bushnell 6500 one higher step than the VX-3. See links below.

Ive look at one of these last month, and I would rate its glass as good as my Leopold VX-3 30mm 1.5x5.6x32, great scope and my friend picked up 2 for $300, so I am going to take one off his hands!

I've got one of the first 8-32 siii that Rick brought in. It's been up to 1000yrds and back down to 100 in the next shot string. Back right on target with no Change. It's on my 300wm and will stay there. Great optic.

It looks like Chuck doesn't like NF and Optics Talk says they are biased towards the hunting application of the scopes.
