Just looking for some advise on a moderatly priced set of rings and bases that will fit my scope and rifle.

The scope is in the mail, but I don't know what to buy for mounting hardware. I want them to be as solid as possible for under $100. Preferably from Cabelas since I haven't completed the rifle order yet, and that's where my rifle's coming from (save shipping)... and they seem to have a decent selection.

i just put the burris signature zee rings with the inserts on my Steven's they are about 50$ mine are med and i have a 6-24x44 bushnell and i used the two piece weaver bases, works for me

Do the stevens come with threaded holes for a scope?

And what does "with the inserts" mean? Regular hight? Or Medium/high height (i assume "med" meant medium height)? I'm a newb.

I'd like the scope to be as low as possible...

And, where did you get your mounts and rings?

I'm also a fan of the Burris Signature rings.

Go with the Weaver style as shown, and "medium" should work fine unless your scope has a 50mm objective, then use the "high".

I prefer the Weaver Grand Slam steel bases, look better, are stronger, and don't have dirt traps built in.

The "inserts" are what make Signature rings unique, pivoting bearings of a sort that prevent misalignment issues, don't require lapping, and don't leave ugly ring marks on your new scope.

Just follow instructions, but a couple points: a) do NOT gorilla torque the ring cap screws! Just snug 'em up nice with the allen wrench supplied. b) if done right, the top cap should be nice and square to the ring base, and there should be a small gap on each side between the cap and ring base. If you tighten the screws until they touch, you've overdone it and run the risk of the scope slipping during recoil. c) Make sure all contact surfaces on both the scope and inserts are absolutely CLEAN AND DRY!!!

Excellent rings, only ones I will use on my rifles.

Greg,

get an EGW picatinny rail. You can order these direct from evolution gun works. I think site sponser Allen gun works had somme also. This gives you lots of flexibility for scope position.

As said, top it off with Burris medium zee rings. The inserts give you lots of flexibility should you need additional windage/elevation adjustment.

Your looking at around $100 for the above items.

Or you can cheap out and have much less flexibility for below half that price.

Well I sent some emails off last night, no one emailed me back all day today. I guess no one wants my money....
