SO, I'm setting up this match for this coming weekend and i called the Trophy place today to get trophies done up for the match winners and others. and I'm going thru the catalog and damn is there ever allot of styles of trophies

And well it got me thinking, What do you do with your Trophy that you win at IPSC, IDPA, Cowboy Action, 3-gun ....etc etc .

If you want, post some pictures, lets see your collection, I would start it but I got them all down off my wall because I'm moving.

the ones from bigger matches and level 2's that I win, I usually hang them somewhere,...bigger ones I post in my small business greeting room. Others that I get for coming in 2nd or 3rd I place in my gun/office room,...to remind myself to do better next time.

oOo.. I like that concept. Nice way to spread them out. and good reminders.

In Alberta we have gone away from Trophies for our qualifiers. instead we have one large 14" x 12", wall plaque and if you win something you get a small, 2." x 1", plaque to stick to it. the big one has 18 spots on it. i will try and post a picture tonight.

The trophies from L3s and special competitions get put on a shelf in my office; the plaques from little matches get donated back to the club to be recycled (I've been doing this a long time...)

I generally prefer plaques to trophies, it's always easier to find wall space than shelf space and also easier to dust.

Some people need to stay home so I can win. ;)

But seriously, I've noticed my scores steadily increasing as I gain more experience. I'll have some trophies in a few years. :D

Provincial Champion trophy and top ten trophies from the Nationals go on a shelf by the front door, other level III match winner trophies, Solo I, II and Touring car racing trophies etc go on a shelf in the basement, level I, II, III plaques, IPSC Presidents medals, USPSA medals, Bianchi cup plaque, PPC plaques etc go on the wall in the basement.

I receive around twenty award hanging plaques and standing displays with my former employer over the years. I since left that company and don't think they would look good in my new office now that my former employer is our main competitor. Looking for a bon fire.

You can also use them for throwing darts. :D

That's an interesting idea, I could see a possibility for that, at some of our club matches, like level one or steel matches we have just stopped buying trophies and give cash back, not much , but the 10 or 20 bucks is kinda nice . Makes it easy for the Match director too. Instead of trying to guess how many trophies we need since you don't preregister. Our last steel match had 71 or something shooters our best turn out yet, who would have guessed that. The sun might have had something to do with it .

My plan was to take a picture of my trophies and put them in a photoalbum with a printout of the important stats and maybe a few pictures of the match booklet/match itself. I uhm....haven't gotten around to it yet, but I bought a photoalbum for them!

I have 3 boxes of trophies that are sitting in storage under my stairs. I threw away another 2 boxes of plaques when I last moved, and probably another box the time I moved before that.

We need less trophies, Division winners at major matches, maybe top 3 at Nats, then give a gift certificate or card equal to what you would have spent on trophies to the rest. Maybe a paper certificate in lieu of all those class trophies.

I have never won any for shooting, but I had some from Sask wildlife Fed. and some from hockey and curling (years gone by) I pitched them all out. Dust collectors.

Skip the photoalbum and put them right into the web site.
