I just picked up a set off eBay for 99 cents... The part # is 45000
You will need to notch them slightly for the ambi safety, there is already a partial notch there (may fit standard 1911s?) but you need to extend it slightly.

Your slide looks cool.

Can you describe for us what exactly you did with it?

What is the slide material like to work with?

Thanks! I used some 220 grit Automotive sandpaper (sticky kind) and stuck it to a firm block. Then I just wet sanded the slide until it was shiny. I kept it cool and worked slow. I just didn't like the writing on it, and was about to sand blast the whole thing... then I thought of this. It looks alright, kinda bad-ass for a .22

The slide appears to be just plain old aluminum.
**edit** Almost forgot, detail strip the slide first, you don't want to get sanding grit into the breech bolt, or damage the sights.
you will notice the pin holding the breech bolt into the slide has 3 little notches on one side, drive it out from the other side, as the pin appears to be tapered that way. Then just slide the breech bolt forward and it will lift out. Watch out for the firing pin safety plunger and spring!

Hey John
Just go to Ebay and search 1911 grips

Jay

Thanks. I don't do ebay but my wife is a master at it. I will place my order with her. :)

What caught my eye with your grips was they look fairly large. I shoot a 2011 90% of the time and find that my GSG in general feels small and skinny in the grip.
