Fact or Fiction? Does a heavy guide rod reduce recoil or muzzle flip?

and if you shoot steel core ammo helps with the scores too!!
 
if you look at the physics of it, anything that makes your gun heavier should lessen perceived recoil. i have 1911's with short and full length guide rods, and i cant tell the difference when i shoot them. maybe im just not good enough. some people will say it makes a world of difference. So if you are looking to makes the ultimate comp pistol, id say yeah go for the tungsten guide rod. tungsten is basically the densest metal around that is reasonably priced.

I was running with the original plastic guide rod on my Shadow since I bought it before the 2010 Provinicals. I just swapped it out for the CZ SS guide rod recently and ran it for the Peterborough match.

Honestly... I didn't feel a difference. I actually forgot I had it installed. I only remembered was because someone one at the Peterborough match picked up and holstered MY Shadow instead of their own.... Grrrrrrrr :HR:, and looked it over.

So far I haven't seen steel guide rods produced by CZ factory (i.e. offered from CZUB own web store or catalog). There are rods produced by CZ Custom (aka Angus's Shop), but I don't believe those qualify for Production.
