I've never used a rangefinder but after playing around with my friends I decided to look into them. I saw some people say they like their Ziess RFs but they are 600 to 700 USD.... and they seem fairly large. I really like the Leupold RX1000 TBR because its good for a 1000 yds (beyond my shooting ability) and its palm sized so its easy to carry if im out shooting in the fields. Anyone have one? Or use one? Or read any reviews on it? Thanks

Have had a Leica 1200 for six or seven years, and it is a very fine unit. Light and handy, it ranges game to far, far, beyond what I would ever attempt to shoot. Not that it particularly matters, but I have ranged trees beyond 1200 yd, and it shows the range.

Checked out on our club range, it reads within one yard at 100 yd. At 500 meters, it reads withing 2-32 meters!

And, it is still using the original battery I put in it. :)

I've got the RX1000, I love it. Use it all the time when I'm hunting. Ended up finding a great deal on a new one on ebay. I think it was $150-175.

I've got a friend with an RX1000, and he can't get more than 500 yards on game animals with it. I just keep ticking away with the Leica 1200 out to 1000 on critters....

Get the Leica and you'll thank me later.
