hey everyone
im looking at getting one of those 14" norinco 780s
i was just curious if the tactical stoocks for the rem 870 are compatable?
and if the heat sheilf isnt to long and will stick over the end?
thanks for the help

rob

I put my moss 500 stock beside my 780 and it looked like it would fit, but the stock would have too be drilled out to fit the bolt from the back of the reacever

the 780 are fun little guns to shoot but I find they don't like ejecting 3" shell all the time but no proublems with 2 3/4

Run, fast. Mine chewed up one of the ledges the pump rail rides on. I rednecked in a new rail made of actual steel but now it's warping the reciever. Currently it's having difficulty ejecting anything, it even started chewing up the shell seat in the barrel. And it looks ugly to boot with the two studs poking through from the fix-it ledge. It's at the point I feel it's dangerous to shoot, and I will soon be properly and legally deactivating it. Don't buy a 780 unless you're a glutton for punishment

lots of horo stores of this gun
But sume times you get a good one
and for less then $200 shiped to our house its fun chep gun

you get what you pay for

Spend a bit more and get a HP-9...alot better shotgun and parts are compatible with the Rem 870 .....the 780 parts are not compatible with the Rem 870.

Yes they're that bad and it doesn't matter what you shoot. They just simply have not been put through any sort of testing, it's a flawed design, I did put slugs through mine but the ledge started breaking away from the reciever before I ever put a single one through. I'd only been shooting 2 3/4 target load, I only tried slugs after I tried to effect the repair. Mark my words, that ledge will break off or be close to breaking off well within 100 2 3/4 target load shells. The guys who say they're fine never shoot them.

both of mine have around 20 2 3/4 LIGHT target loads through them... the rails were straight when I bought 'em, now they are bent right down...

Good for a laugh... and I only paid $130 each for 'em.... and then painted one bright red with Pucca on it, Garu on the other (what can I say, my wife likes Anime...)

I doubt they will make it through the year... then I rip the barrel off and convert 'em to wall hangers... (too pretty to throw out ;))

Just got mine. Haven't been out with it as of yet.
Seems to be pretty cheaply made but, at this point I'd declare it functional.
I've run about 150-200 snap caps through it without failure so far.
I was really just looking for a cheap-o I can toss to a buddy when we're out so he doesn't defile my beloved 870 anymore.

are 0% of parts interchangeable? some, few, none? anyone do a comparison with a proper 870, on sale for only $90 at SFRC. Would be worth it just for the barrel

I just saw that as well a $90 shotgun is a pretty good deal. Pretty tempting but im gonna pass and buy something that won't give me trouble

really there that bad?? i was only gonn shoot 2 3/4 any way

Just read the description on SFRC own web site quote "secondly they often develop problems down the line. Many of the ones I've sold in the past have been fine but some have had mechanical problems. As such they are being sold as is with no warranty.

This will be shipped as we get them in the box, we do not test them and sometimes they do require a bit of tinkering with.

On the plus side how can you beat a shotgun for under $100!"

By the sounds of it your getting a very expensive stick even at $90 plus taxes and shipping now your over $100. I could get you a very nice bo made of some exotic wood for a lot less.

The barrel does not interchange with the 870.

The 780 is out of dimension in every concievable way with the 870. Some fellows here have made stuff work on it, but here we get into the exciting world of turd polishing.

Spend a extra $200 and get an HP9. Much better deal for the money.
