It's designed as an assault rifle... it isn't supposed to be an accurate hunting rifle. Game animals deserve better.
I think you need to read the definition of assault rifle. Its not select fire last time I checked. While an SKS would be adequate for deer hunting, I agree that you should opt for a dedicated hunting rifle.




























This is very true. My beef is not that the OP should get a hunting rifle, but that people are stating that you can't hunt with an SKS. You CAN, and effectively. You just need to know your limitations with it. I also think that no matter what the OP gets, it won't make any difference if he doesn't spend lots of time shooting for practice.
