Just stippled my Glock. What a thrill...

I'd never do that to my pistol. I'd rather stick with skateboard tape or condom handall grip. It is true though that earlier generations grips were not as tacky as gen4...

Well after planing on do this for almost two years I finally grew the balls. It wasn't that hard, I had already removed the finger grooves, they messed with my grip while wearing gloves.

I now present my uglyfied Glock:

I was always jealous of gunner grips on 1911s and wanted to copy theire girppyness.

As I scrolled down through your pics I was thinking it looks like Gunner grips. Well, that or fishnets. Either way, good on ya!

I like it.

whats the process for this effect?

not my thing BUT I have seen lots of people make there guns look like trash doing it. You seem to do a better job than them.

Thanks ... I think

The process was simple. While I was trying to figure out what I was going to use I figured I would take the tip out of my soldering iron. And viola

I saw the back end of the tip and thought that looks like the pattern of gunner grips. And so I had found my tool. I just put it back in the soldering iron backwards. Then I thought it probably was not a good idea to just start jamming a hot soldering iron into my Glock. So i needed something to practice on, enter the old fab defense handgaurd from my 858.

After a few test marks, it was good to go and I started on my Glock.

I started by doing a line down the middle of the front strap and down the back strap. The I staggered the next row off of the first. And continued until I was done.

The pattern is like this:

It only took me about 40min to do this, I did it while watching a movie. And yes I know I need a new tip for the soldering iron.

It turned out better than I thought and I am happy with it. (Thank God)

Just stippled my M&P9 (praise Costa) I tried to do an outline around the stippling but it didn't really pan out, so I had to do a patch job (see 2nd pic) This one worked out much better, the trick is penetration (thats what she said) Just hardly touch the surface for a fine gritty texture. Also I sort of randomized the process so it looks less uniform.

This thread is cringe inducing. But hey, not my guns, everybody's different. That first glock job is just really different, you got a lot better on the MP... Don't think that first one could sell for $350 now.

I will admit the glock is not my best work. That said it just sold to a gentleman in Victoria for exactly what I paid for it. (he was looking for a stippled gun)

That said I see your point, it does damage the resale value. On the counterpoint my guns are tools and implements, not collectiables. I shoot hard and train hard with them, and though this isn't esteticly pleasing, its a big helP in my shooting. As long as I own polymer guns, I will keep stippling them. I plan on a XD next.

I'm not much of a Glock guy, but I have a few friends who have stippled their Glocks and I have to say, it's actually a lot more comfortable and sticky. Surprising.

Amazingkg3... if I sent you a palmswell from my M&P, would you stipple for me and how much would you charge? I am considering doing similar work on my M&P as well but I do not have the balls, the tools, or the craftsmanship to do it myself.

Hey man, I just saw this like 2 months too late. If you ship i will do it and send it back. Just take care of S&H. PM me if your interested still

What type of soldering iron did you use? I have stippled 5 different Ak grips. All different. Filing the head of your iron can bring about different patterns. There are a lot of interesting designs you can come up with. Here are a few.

I have another grip too that I made to look like snake skin. Worthy of the artist formerly known as prince.

That looks horrid! I will never do that to my Glock. Ill get some sandpaper grips first.
