I found you kinda need the little ball in the sling plate to keep the extension from backing off. I could use a clamp as well but this is easier to field strip. Tempted to trim it down for a cleaner look since I never use a sling on it.

I have the same gun with the meat grinder :D

Do you mind to share some info on your mag extension?
 
Its a Rem 870 Tac Star that is back bored a little deeper....0.150" I think, and shortened with a new end plug.

The end pluge is about 1.5" long.

Just learn something new again.

Did tried my Nordic components +1 from the 930 and fit my 870, however the Remmy original +2 won't go on the 930.

Possibly what you described (needs to back bore a bit).

Which model/product number of the 930 is that and where did you get it???

I have the exact same gun without his custom +1 3/4 extension.

It is the 930 Tactical 18.5" door breacher (non-removable) Mossberg #85330.

Its drilled and tapped but no rear sight (front bead only) 4 in mag plus 1 in chamber.

An HP-9 outfitted with the 12.5'' DA barrel. The shotgun was painted and tuned by Simon at S&J (the chamber was polished, jumbo safety installed, and mag tube outfitted with an 870 Police spring and S&J no-jam follower).

Simon really did a nice job on it, IMHO.

Its smooth and quick to point - and I have yet to have a failure with anything and everything from target fodder to 3'' Mag OO and slugs.

I added an XS Big Dot Tritium sight (Brownells) over the bead - and I like it. Its very visible in bright sunshine and low/no light - and a very quick reference for both eyes open sighting.
Also added was a Hogue foregrip - because it rains a bit where I live.

I've slung it with a Blue Force Gear VCAS using the "fixed buttstock" adapter (purchased through One Shot Tactical - excellent service).

Its comfortable for bush carry, as I can strap it close to my body while boony-bashing, but have it released and to the shoulder very quickly with the adjuster.

I've also pinned a Mesa Tactical (Brownells) left-side four shell onto the gun - just for plinking purposes.
As a lefty, I find it very quick to reload from (two shells brass down for the tube, and two shells brass up for feeding into the chamber - or any combination you desire) - a rarity in a world of right-handed shooting gear - ha ha!

It'll come off for bush carry, though - as you get the one in the chamber and just maybe the first one in the tube in very close counter bear situations.
Any other ammo you were carrying would be academic after that!

I Love it!
I put a Big dot on mine too, it solves the tendency of these shorties to shoot high. That's the reason Remington puts a pedestal under the beads on it's Police guns by the way.
Mine is actually a lot like that but 14", I had a Knoxx stock on mine but just switched it back to the factory one for ease of use, loading and pointability. The Knoxx pistol grip is really awkward speed loading.

quick question though, how'd you get the sling to attatch to the fixed buttstock adapter? I see on the website theres a female end coming out of the buttstock adapter, but I'm not seeing a male end on any of the stock photo's of the vcas sling. Did you have to buy the male end seperatly?

Why is that? I really think it speeds up speed loading. If the gun is empty I pump it open and support the gun with my left hand and grab a brass up round from the carrier and shove it in the ejection port with my right and my hand goes back onto the pistol grip very quickly and allows me to really slam the action closed. I then have a loaded gun and I can fill up the mag tube using my left while keeping the now hot gun pointed at my target. I find that the pistol grip lets me support the gun better with just my right hand than a stock stock does. Just my $.02

I do shoot left handed.
The main thing is when grabbing out of the sidesaddle which would be on the opposing side from me, I have to twist my wrist in a slightly awkward way to bring the reciever up into my workplace. Also the pistol grip seems to congest my workplace.
It's not that bad and still pretty fast but I find a regular stock quicker and less awkward.
Maybe it's just a lefty thing :)

Anyway I took my Knoxx off yesterday and I'm going to try it with the old stock for a while. It sure is fun to change it up a bit, it feels like a whole new gun, as I've changed the forend and added a sidesaddle, light mount and Big dot since I put on the Knoxx four years ago.
